Improving veterinary care with a specialized AI assistant

Veterinarians face high pressure and limited access to specialists, necessitating faster and more effective clinical decision-making. AITEM Solutions created LAIKA, the first veterinary-specific AI assistant, using Llama 3.1 70B Instruct. LAIKA uses a custom RAG pipeline incorporating the NVIDIA NeMo Retriever reranking model to deliver fast, accurate, domain-specific responses based on medical literature and patient factors.
